Ready For a Trip?

We all need a break from time to time. We deserve to have time to relax and enjoy some free time. You can do so by going a nice weekend away! I have some small tips to book and enjoy a lovely weekend away from home.

Booking your transport

To start off, a weekend away can get pretty expensive. Especially when you are going abroad. Some destinations are easily reachable by train, but sometimes you have to book a flight to get there. And in that case, you will definitely benefit from the website Skyscanner.nl. There, you can search all destinations and the website shows the cheapest flights and days to travel on! However, don’t forget to always search for plane tickets on a private browser, as the price of the ticket rises when you search for the same location a couple of times. It also helps to search on different devices as well.

Booking your stay

If you want your trip to not get too expensive, I recommend booking a room in a hostel. Staying in a hostel does not mean you will sleep in a dorm with 20 other people. You can stay in a dorm for 6 or 8 people, or even book a private dorm. This is most of the time still cheaper than booking a hotel!

But don’t forget to read the reviews of the hostel before you make a reservation as there can be big differences between them!!

Activities to do on your trip

When preparing a trip, I always look online for activities in a certain destination. You can look on travel blogs for good recommendations. You can also just rely on a trustworthy Lonely Planet book!

One thing I always enjoy, is to explore a place by bike, the Dutch way! You can see a lot, in a short time while being active at the same time! Don’t forget to stop to enjoy a nice lunch somewhere.

Find places to eat

To find nice restaurants and lunchrooms, I always go and google some places beforehand. That way, I can see the google reviews and I can visit their Instagram to see how the food looks!

For the vegetarians and vegans, I recommend using Happycow.net to find the best places that have a completely vegetarian/ vegan menu, or have great options for vegetarians and vegans!

Now that I’ve shared some tips, it’s time for you to book your trip and start planning what you want to do! I hope you will have a great time!
