The documentary

For a lot of people, coffee is their engine for the day. In many varieties and flavors, we enjoy our cup of coffee every day. Not knowing enough about where and how coffee plants grow and coffee beans are harvested and processed. More and more you see that coffee farmers are not paid fairly. They provide a high-quality product grown with care and dedication. Especially with climate change lately, things are more uncertain for farmers than ever before. This topic gets far too little attention, which is why I want to change it. I would like to take you on a trip to Don Alvaro in Colombia and show you the real life of this coffee farmer. The passion he puts into his work and what better payment does to the quality of life for the farmer, his family and the village community.

The purpose of this documentary

The purpose of this documentary is to show the true life of the coffee farmer. Every day, coffee farmers work with tremendous passion while not all of them get paid accordingly. How does the coffee farmer make sure he can pay for his minimal lifestyle? We want to show you as a viewer what living conditions the coffee farmers live in, how much time goes into the process and how important it is to get your coffee beans from the right supplier. Would we still want to pay the same price for coffee if we knew the consequences for the coffee farmer? After all, who really pays the price?
