If you are anything like me, then you probably spend an embarrassing amount of time browsing Instagram. Especially nowadays when there are not a lot of ways to keep yourself entertained with social distancing and all. Look at it the following way: it is an opportunity for you to find inspiration in what others are doing. What you see on Instagram could be your new hobby or what you are having for dinner tonight. It can also be a home workout, an easy way to remove wine stains, or your next hairstyle. The possibilities are endless, right? So, in order to justify my time spent on Instagram, I will share with you four cool accounts that you might not know about (but you definitely should).
Color Palette Cinema (@colorpalette.cinema)
This account is for all the cinema lovers! Color palette cinema is essentially color palettes from different movie stills. The account also has information about the movie- name, year, cast, team, etc. It is an extremely cool idea that is very pleasing to look at. You may wonder what importance do these color palettes have? Well, the bio of the account says it all “Color can affect us psychologically, often without us being aware, and can be used as a strong device in a story.” Just go check it out and who knows you might see your favourite movie there!
Comments by Celebs (@commentsbycelebs)
Comments by celebs is a great account to follow if you have not already. It is full of different posts from Instagram and Twitter and the comments that celebrities have left there. You can catch Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively making fun of one another or John Legend and Chrissy Teigen being absolute “couple goals”. It is honestly so fun to see different celebrities interacting and I can guarantee that you will see some funny conversations between people that you would have never thought knew each other.
Overheard New York (@overheardnewyork)
We have all overheard some strangers’ weird conversations at one point or another, right? Well, just imagine the wild things people talk about in New York- one of the most colorful and diverse cities in the world. Overheard New York is basically what people have overheard while grocery shopping, riding the subway, or waiting in line in a coffee shop. There are some true gems that will make you wonder how people are so careless with their volume while telling a story. Also, if New York isn’t that interesting for you, there are many other account options like Overheard Celebs, LA, London, Bumble, and even in University!
So you want to talk about… (@soyouwanttotalkabout)
This Instagram account is more on the educational side but the way the information is presented, and all the different topics will definitely surprise you and give you something to think about. “So, you want to talk about” is basically “Dissecting progressive politics and social issues in graphic slideshow form!”. The idea and execution of this account is really cool and unique. Each post starts with “So you want to talk…” and it is finished by all those different topics like- if Trump refuses to leave the office, motivation techniques, abolishing the death penalty, consent, things you didn’t learn in school, and so much more!
I hope you enjoyed this part of the “Under-the-radar” series. I know these accounts have a good amount of followers already and maybe you already know some of them but the idea behind each one is unique and worth following. Anyways, have a good day and see you in the next part of this series!
