1. Holy Moly Comedy Night
Want to laugh until your cheeks hurt and you're clutching your stomach? Holy Moly Comedy Night is the spot for a night packed with pure hilarity! Holy Moly hosts many different comedy evenings featuring comedians from all over the country! —and, guess what? They even bring in international comedians! These shows are all in English, perfect for anyone new to Breda looking for a laugh. You’ve got two choices: go all-in with a 2-course dinner or keep it simple with just the show. Tickets for the comedy show alone are only €19.95—a steal for top-notch laughs! So, ask your friends and prepare for an evening of laughing, snorting, and wiping away tears of joy. Shows run on various dates in November and December, so pick a night that fits your vibe.
2. Internationals Cinema Night: Corpus Christi – 24 November
Are you an international and tired of the fact that when you go to the cinema there are only Dutch subtitles? I got you. 'Breda Internationals' organises a film evening every month with English subtitles. This month they are showing the movie Corpus Christi. This film is about a young man with a criminal record who pretends to be a priest in a Polish town struggling with trauma. 20-year-old Daniel (the great talent Bartosz Bielenia) was in a juvenile detention center for a violent crime. He seeks refuge in a small Polish town, where he is mistaken for a priest. In short, a very interesting film that is definitely worth your evening off. You can sign up here.
3. Black Friday - 29 November
Mark your calendar—November 29th is the day! Is it finally time to grab that fitness gear you've been eyeing or that perfect skirt you’ve lovingly put back again because, let’s face it, the price tag was a little too expensive? Well, Black Friday in Breda has you covered with huge discounts across most stores!
Yes, some people advise against going to the city on this particular day, but come on, it's a great opportunity to observe people! You can enjoy the pure fun of Black Friday madness and score those goods on your wish list at incredible prices. Or go to a terrace on the ‘Grote markt’ or ‘Havermarkt’, relax, browse through your phone, and cross items off your list online while enjoying a cup of coffee, and observing the shopping madness from a safe distance if the crowds become a little too crowdy.4.
4. Holiday on ice: No Limits – 12 December until 15 December
One of the most beautiful shows of the year: Holiday On Ice. The world's best figure skaters and ice dancers make the new Holiday On Ice show so impressive that you might wonder if you accidentally slipped into a winter wonderland. The show called ‘NO LIMITS’ tells a story of breaking boundaries, finding love, and the magical power of human connection... on ice!
This show is absolutely breath-taking because of its modern video projections, colourful costumes, jaw-dropping moves that defy gravity, unique lighting, and most importantly the stunning performances. They’re in Breda for six performances only, from December 12 to December 15, with tickets starting at €32.50. Trust me, this isn’t your average skate-around-the-rink night! Grab your tickets, and don't forget to dress up warmly (unless you are Elsa from frozen, because then the cold doesn't bother you anyway).
5. Skating Rink at 'Grote Markt' – 13 December until 15 January
(N)ice news, Breda! Starting this December, you can lace up those skates and glide (or stumble) your way around the Grote Markt! From December 13 to January 15 the heart of the city will be transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with an ice rink. It’s all part of the “Breda Straalt” project, which also brings other cozy holiday activities to town. Breda Straalt is an organization that makes sure that during the winter days, Breda is aesthetically pleasing decorated. Whether you're a skating pro or more of a professional faller, this rink is the place to be. Not a skater? No problem! Grab a cup of hot chocolate or a warm glass of mulled wine, soak up the winter lights, and watch the crowd. There’s something magical about watching people glide (and occasionally wipe out) to keep that holiday spirit alive.
Breda becomes a winter wonderland full of magic, laughter, and memories ready to be created with activities like Holy Moly Comedy Night, international movie night, Black Friday shopping sprees, the captivating Holiday on Ice: No Limits, and skating at the Grote Markt under the winter lights. Whether you're here for the fun, the discounts, or the Christmas spirit, Breda has a place for you in the center of the celebrations, so get your friends together, mark your calendars, and get ready to enjoy the joy of the season.
