BUas at IFFR 2025: An Unforgettable Experience! 🎬✨

Attending the International Film Festival Rotterdam 2025 was an exciting opportunity that shouldn’t be missed! From thought-provoking films to inspiring talks, IFFR once again proved why it’s one of the most essential festivals for film lovers.

We had the chance to watch incredible films like the Oscar-nominated Brutalist (2024, Brady Corbet) and Memoir of a Snail (2024, Adam Elliot), the impressive Chinese drama The Last Dance (2024, Zihan Geng), and the beautifully crafted All We Imagine as Light (2024, Payal Kapadia). Alongside these, we explored a variety of experimental shorts that pushed the boundaries of storytelling.

Beyond the screenings, we attended Big Talks with incredible talents like Victoria Pedretti, Hanna van Vliet, and the legendary Miike Takashi, alongside his producer Saka Misako. We also heard insights from Ena Sendijarević and the iconic Renée Soutendijk.

On the industry side, Pro Talks provided valuable discussions on pressing topics, including Cinema in the Rise of Authoritarianism, Rethinking Co-Productions, and The Global European Filmmaker.

Our biggest miss? The much-anticipated talk with Cate Blanchett and Guy Maddin on their new film Rumours (2025), as well as a deep dive with Lol Crawley, the cinematographer behind Brutalist.

IFFR 2025 was truly an inspiring experience, and we can’t wait for next year! Will we see you there in 2026? 🎥🔥
