Once every few months, I decide that the app store is my favourite place ever. Then I also decide that it totally makes sense for me to delete half of my camera roll so I can download an unlimited number of apps. In the end, I end up hating most of them and deleting them, of course. It has honestly become a vicious cycle until I realized that this makes me competent enough to show you 4 apps that did not make it to the trash bin. Yeyy! These are apps that I believe could be of great use to anyone, really. So, read along and if something piques your interest, make sure to give it a try!
Notion
Notion is the perfect app for those of you who are struggling to get your life together. It is available for both iOS and Android and as a desktop app. Most of the organizational apps that I have tried always have something missing. Notion actually presents you with so many possibilities: you can make grocery lists, notes, add links to recipes, track projects, organize your traveling, journal, add tasks to your calendar, and so much more. The app is very customizable and full of templates that you can choose from. You can literally put your whole life in this app and organize it!!
Stoic.
I found this app the same day I am writing his article, which can already tell you a lot. Stoic is a wellness/mental-health app, available only in the App store. I am so sorry Android users...truly. This app has such an impressive minimal design and so many surprising functions. Basically, every time you take a little test and answer some questions about your mood. Then depending on your answers and how much time you have, the app suggests exercises to “fix” your mood- journaling, focus breathing, meditation, relax breathing, visualization, goals, fear setting, and more. There are also quotes, affirmations, and a mood tracker. This app really helps you understand your feelings and calms you down. And did I mention how well-made it is...Just take a look for yourself!
Terrarium
Terrarium might be a bit of a controversy since it is not really about the app itself but how you use it. Let me explain...Terrarium is a relaxing game available for both iOS and Android. It is basically a little garden where you plant seeds and water plants, and so on. As a game itself, it is honestly a waste of your time. Nothing really happens except you upgrading flowers and tapping them for more oxygen. However, if you struggle with anxiety and just need something to take your mind off things, this app is a delight. Sometimes my brain gets too overworked and I have all these thoughts just simultaneously bothering me. Then by playing this game, my brain lets go and focuses on something simple and easy. After 5 minutes I feel way more relaxed!
Fastic
Fastic might not be everyone’s cup of tea since it is an intermittent fasting app (available for both iOS and Android). However, if you do your research, you just might get inspired to give fasting a try. It has been around since the dawn of time, there is so much research online backed up by science, and the benefits are fascinating. Well, Fastic is there to guide you through your journey and make it as easy for you as possible. The design and functions of the app are amazing. It lets you choose from many fasting options that won’t really be a drastic change for you and your lifestyle. There is also a water tracker and step tracker, you can add fasting buddies, and so much more.
These were my app suggestions. All of them are free, of course, since apps are the last thing I would probably pay for as a uni student. There are paid add-ons but that is normal with every app nowadays. I hope you got inspired to give one or all four of them a try. Maybe they can influence your life for the better. Who knows!
