Unfortunately, the restaurants have been closed for quite a while now. The good thing is that you can still order your favorite dishes online, to eat them at home. I can tell you there are a lot of good restaurants to go to in Breda. Forget McDonald’s or the typical döner place and treat yourself with a nice diner or lunch. Let me share my favorites places with you. Good food guaranteed!

De Carpaccioclub

If you like carpaccio this is the place to be! Like the name already suggests the menu mainly consists of carpaccio. When thinking about carpaccio the chances are you are thinking about thinly sliced meat. But there is more! The best thing is that they have so many versions, even when you are a vegetarian, they have a lot of options for you. The Carpaccio club has meat, fish, veggie, and fruit carpaccio and it all looks so good! You can get lunch, dinner and order drinks. The prices differ if you just want a plate, a sandwich or a salad. Most plates cost between € 11,00 and € 14,00. Sandwiches are around € 9,00 and the salads are around € 14,00. Koffiebar Sowieso Breda

I discovered this place when I was looking for a birthday present for my best friend. We like to give each other things to do. So I decided to take her out for lunch and we did a high tea. Not a normal one with a lot of sweets and cakes but a guilty free one. I was scared that I wouldn't like it and it would be too healthy but this was definitely not the case. Everything was so good! Sowieso Breda is a cozy and small place with the best coffee. I would definitely recommend it if you want a nice place to do your schoolwork once corona is over. During corona, you can get healthy takeaway breakfast and lunches. Think of smoothie bowls, pancakes, buddha bowls, healthy cakes, and tosti’s. The takeaway prices differ from € 7,00 to €10,00. Barista Café Breda

The people that know me know I love a good coffee and that I am a sucker for cute places. Barista café Breda is a place I go to regularly to get my favorite coffee. They have up to forty flavors to try out. The best thing about them has to be their cakes and sweets, like the rocky road bar, chocolate chip cookies, and cinnamon rolls. Check out their Instagram and you can see what I mean. The place is located directly in the center of Breda and it is easy to visit and order something when you are on your way to a friend. The prices of a coffee differ from € 2,50 to € 3,50. Barista café Breda also has takeaway breakfast and lunches but the menu is small during the corona times. The lunches are around € 6,00 to € 9,00. You can visit them at Grote Markt 12 and they have multiple locations throughout the Netherlands.

Bobbi’s bar

When I walk from the station to my student room I pass this place. I was always curious about what type of food they served but I never visited the place. Until one day a friend of mine took me there. When I walked in I noticed the fun interior and it reminded me of a cool bar in New York City. Like the name already suggests, it has a huge bar in the middle of the restaurant. They have marble tables with velvet pink and blue chairs. I would definitely recommend it once we can eat out again. Besides the beautiful interior, they have amazing food. There is something for everyone. Right now you have a corona sharing is caring menu for two persons for €34,75 pp. It is not the cheapest but you get a delicious three-course meal for it. If you are not in for a three-course meal you can order a pizza or their famous chicken dishes. The pizzas are stone-baked pizza and taste delicious. If you order a pizza I would recommend the pumpkin party pizza. You can pick up your order at Gasthuyspoort 1, 4811 GW Breda during the opening hours of 17:00 – 19:30. Bobbi’s bar also delivers to your home. You can order online on their website. There you can also find an impression of the restaurant.

Taste the original

I recently discovered this place. Most of the time I went to Bagels & Beans but I never noticed this lunch spot next to it. Taste makes fresh homemade sandwiches and salads. The best part is that you can choose from a large variety of pieces of bread. Another plus is that the sandwiches are really big and fill you up. They have a big range of sandwiches from hot sandwiches, sandwiches with fish, meat or veggie. The sandwiches taste so good! I may have a new addiction. The prices depend if you want to order a small or big sandwich. A small sandwich is around € 6,00 and a big sandwich around €7,00. Right now, they are looking for new employees so if you are looking for a job you can send them an email! I bet you want to eat lunch there every day! De Suikerkist

When I can I like to eat vegan or vegetarian. So, I am always looking for nice restaurants that serve tasty and original vegetarian dishes. A friend of mine recommended ordering from de Suikerkist. De Suikerkist serves urban street food dishes. On my birthday I decided to go for it. First of all, if you go to their website and see the photos of their dishes you want to order right away! I ordered the Kimchi bowl, and I was surprised. It tasted really good! If you are with friends that love meat, they also serve amazing burgers. If you want to organize an evening with drinks with friends, you can order from the finger food menu. The finger food dishes differ from €4,00 to €9,00 for bigger finger foods such as nachos. The prices for dinner are around €14,00 to €16,00. You can pick up your order at Havermarkt 2, Breda, or order from their website.

Breda has a lot of nice places to take away the best lunches and dinners. During corona, it is important to support the local restaurants. What better way to this is to order a delicious lunch. It is also a good way to treat yourself during a long day of school behind your laptop. Or if you want to enjoy a day in the park with your friends.
