Eindhoven is the largest city in the southern province North Brabant, around 40 minutes from Breda. It is a city with history, art, and a lot of hidden gems. I’d advise hiring a bike or using the bus to explore more things because Eindhoven is a city where not everything can be found in the center.
Enjoy your day in Eindhoven!
Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bicycle lane
The Van Gogh-Roosegaarde bicycle lane is one of Eindhoven's most beautiful spots. This 600-meter biking lane, inspired by the Van Gogh painting "The Starry Night” turns into a glowing work of art each night.
The path between Nuenen and Eindhoven is part of the Van Gogh cycle route, which connects to many places from the painter's life. And you will learn a lot about his life and while also experiencing the magic of this bicycle lane.
If you want to go by public transport use bus number 6 at Eindhoven Station get off at the "Koudenhoven" stop. You can also come by bike; from the central station, it’s a 16-minute bike ride.
ps. Don’t forget to come at night or when it starts to become dark, otherwise you’ll miss the beautiful experience.
Vershal het Veem
Passionate food entrepreneurs collaborate in this space. Vershal het Veem is in Strijp-s, 12 minutes from Eindhoven Central. It is a perfect place to start your daily grocery shopping, there you browse for inspiration, unique products, and eat/drink something on the spot. All the food specialists are more than willing to help you and are happy to share their love for food. It doesn't matter if you come for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or something in between, you are always welcome. Vershal's entrepreneurs will surprise you with their passion, hospitality, knowledge, and, of course, delicious products.
Urban shopper
Because you are already in Strijp-S, don't forget to check out the Urban Shopper. This location is fantastic! It is a one-of-a-kind, modest, exclusive retail complex with roughly 20 distinct establishments. The shops are diverse; you may discover stores in sectors such as design, fashion, hair, literature, kids, vintage, jewelry, and so on. The best thing is that only a few people in Eindhoven are aware of this location, which is why it is truly unique and a must-see.
Kleine berg (small shops/vintage shops)
The Kleine Berg is one of the three well-known shopping streets of the so-called Quartier Vivant of Eindhoven, in the district "De Bergen." In this artistic heart of Eindhoven, you will find galleries, art, boutiques, vintage stores, and restaurants. The best part of this is that you can easily walk 5 minutes from the Kleine Berg to the Eindhoven shopping center to continue your shopping day.
My personal favorite shop on this street is the 100% skate store. It’s a small "skate" store where you can find clothes, shoes, and of course skateboards and accessories. I love this place as it's not busy at all, the staff is very friendly, and they have trendy items.
I hope you enjoyed your day in Eindhoven, discovered new places, and made some new memories. If you want to know more about Eindhoven or have some suggestions for new cities, feel free to send me an email at 212087@buas.nl.
