As the colder months are approaching it is common to start rotting away in your bedroom until spring will arrive again. Which can be waste of time as you could spend your winter in many better ways. I hope to inspire you to do fun things under the comfort of a roof, so you can stay warm and entertained during these cold months. So, if you want to make the most of the coziest time of the year, please read on.
Presentation Night
You might think, why would I make a presentation in my own spare time “when I give pitches about twice a week for school”, yet it can be loads of fun. You can make it really personalised, for example name friend’s red flags. Another idea could be to each do a recap of their 2023 or a “my top 10 worst dates”. From experience I can say it is a night where you will get muscle pains from all the laughing.
Cocktail Night
Another cute activity you could do is to have a cocktail night. It’s so simple: inviting some friends round, everyone bringing some ingredients or everyone bringing their own ready-made cocktails. You can make any cocktail of your choice, however if you’re lacking inspiration or cannot choose a mojito is a classic. A mojito is good anytime of the year, this recipe is a cheap alternative as well. You can organise some tasty snacks on the side. Or combine the cocktail night with the presentation night. An alternative if you’re not into drinking, which is totally fine, is doing the same but with hot chocolate milk and some cookies on the side!
My Favourite Paid Indoor Activities
Maybe on the pricier side of things are some paid indoor activities. However, you are allowed to treat yourself once in a while, especially if you’re making some fun memories with friends. Some classics are glow-in-the-dark mini golf, bowling and an escape room. Especially because you do not do these very often it can be quite a laugh.
Cozy Café
Getting coffee is not expensive and is a great way of keeping in touch with your friends. Keeping each other up to date with all gossip and just having nice conversation with a steaming peppermint mocha or gingerbread chai. Sometimes your social battery may run out, it is important to remember you can also go on a date by yourself! Catching up on some reading or the schoolwork you are behind on. If you are unsure about which cafe to go to in Breda, we have a very helpful guide for you!
Photo-scrapbook / Vision Board
If you’re feeling creative, the next activity is perfect for you! Two possibilities. The first one being a vision board with 2024 approaching. You can print out all kinds of inspiration photos of what you hope the coming year will look like for you, of course you can also do this digitally. The second possibility is making a sort of photo-scrapbook of the past year. Collecting all your favourite memories and crafting them together in a little book to look back on can be very wholesome.
That will be all for my suggested winter activities indoors, some more social activities or other enjoyable pastimes for on your own. So, call up your friends and make sure to plan your winter weekends full. Stay tuned next week as I’ll be back suggesting some outside winter activities.
