Here we are again: looking for some stuff to do during the winter break. This time however we are going out for some fresh air. We often tend to procrastinate going outside during these cold months, yet it is so important to maintain your vitamin D intake. Here are some examples of outdoor activities you can do in the winter.

Photo(shoot)

Still looking for a winter bae? Update your Tinder profile with some new winter photos! Or just in general it's always nice to have some new photos, maybe together with your friends or dog if you have one. Or if you really do not want to get in front of the camera you can take pictures of your surroundings. The winter has beautiful scenery, you can take pictures during golden hour, sunset or sunrise. So, get those rosy cheeks on camera.

Cycling

If you are out in the cold, you might as well keep yourself warm by doing some exercise. Now the new year has arrived you can immediately work on the New Year’s resolution of getting more fit. Here are some cycle routes though Breda. Or you can go around and give out your happy new year cards to your friends and family.

Ice Skating

Another activity to keep you fit during the winter. Ice skating can often be done outside during the winter months. For example, in Breda you have Schaatsbaan Breda Optisport, but also in other city’s you often have lovely little ice skating rinks in the centre during the festive days.

(Christmas) Markets

Christmas markets are a staple winter activity, but let’s not forget about the usual market. Check out the one in Breda on Fridays on the Grote Markt from 09:00-15:00. On a crispy day it can be beautiful to walk around a busy market where people are selling fresh flowers, fruit, nuts and much more.

Hiking

I know we have all heard of going on walks. Even so there are many kinds of walks you can go on. Such as a ‘hot girl morning walk’ or a late-night walk (be careful of creepy men though). There are so many places you can go for a walk; the park, a dyke, your neighbourhood. Or you can make it a day and go to the Veluwe or even as far as the beach. A walk is as long or short as you want. Or as cheap or expensive as you want.

I know it can be difficult to get outside in the winter months, but it is so important. Also, the feeling of coming home and warming up again inside after an eventful day outside feels very rewarding too. So, let’s try and make the most of the last winter months!
