And here is the grand finale. Not that it is really that grand, but it is the finale. The last writing prompt, and the last of my tips… for now. Who will know what is going to happen in the future. But for now, sit back, relax, and enjoy this prompt and my tips.

Writing prompt:

A door appeared where there wasn’t a door before. Where does it lead to? How did it get there? What does this door mean? Explore.

Now also some last tips for the creative writers out there, struggling their way through a story. I feel you!

Tips:

1. If you’re ever stuck with a creative writing project, just think “What would realistically be the worst thing that could happen in this moment?” and then put your characters through that (it is not sadistic if they’re fictional!).

2. If you’re dealing with large issues, focus on the small things a reader can relate to. If you’re writing about a war, don’t always focus on the big picture, focus on the doll left behind because the family couldn’t take their child’s favourite toy. Show what happened to the little man in all the chaos because that feels more feasible for the reader.

3. Don’t overwhelm your readers with too many characters. If there are too many characters, try fusing some of them together. It will give the characters more personality and lessen the number of characters overall.

Remember, these tips are just guidelines. You can ignore them if they don’t fit your narrative, but if you’re ever stuck, try them. And for more prompts like these just look under my written articles. Hope to see you there.
