I went around the Campus and asked some students to describe, anonymously, their student lives. Not revealing their identity resulted in more straight forward and fearless answers, but you as a reader will get a slight hint of how these students look like. Complicated? Don’t worry. Just keep reading!

So, student life! A definition for student life I found online is: “a group of people with a common purpose or shared duties at an institution of higher learning. They are united for the common purpose to receive an education that qualifies them for a life profession through achievement of a college degree” (The Current Sauce, 2020).

Well isn’t that boring! Let’s get real here, I did not buy this at all. So, I went around campus to ask my fellow students how they would describe their student life.

Hard
The first student I encountered was this girl, I noticed that her hair was super colorful, and she has a nose piercing. What a vibrant person! She described her student life as the following: “It’s always a fight to wake up in the morning. After I wake up, I chill in my house for an hour. It sucks, I go to school and I have no friends. And after school I just come home and cry”. What a way to describe your student life! I think I can slightly relate to this.

Progressive
The second student I spoke to was this young man, let’s say it’s one of the many guys walking around with a ponytail on campus. He’s always wearing these classic converse all-star sneakers. So, he told me that he describes his student life here at BUas with two words: “Modern and Diverse”. And yes, I agree! Our material is always covering modern topics, and we also have many international students.

Freedom
As I was looking for students on campus, I ran into 2 guys. These guys are always together on campus, I guess they’re best friends. One with curly hair and his friend which is always wearing glasses and a beanie. The first guy told me that his student life means Freedom for him. While the other one expressed that student life is having the freewill to make your own decisions. In my opinion, this cannot be more accurate. Due to that freedom I'm always late with my projects, always work on them one day before the deadline. Aren't we all the same? LOL.

Planning
I was walking on the 3rd floor in the frontier building and from far I spotted this ginger haired guy, not only for his hair but he was wearing a suit. Yes! A suit at school. For me, he is one of the best production guys on campus, based on my experience. Well, he said the BUas student life is all about planning, planning and more planning. That’s scary because I suck at planning.

Conclusion
So, after hearing the experiences from all these students, 5 to be exact. What is your conclusion? Can you relate? I can! Somedays I hate it and I do cry, but at the same time I love this university. I love BUas for its diversity. I love being a student for the freedom and the possibility to develop myself in the best way to become a professional. But I also love it for my friends, and all the cool people and stories we exchange. During these times of isolation, think about the experience you have being a student. What do you like and dislike about it?
