It’s Thursday night after dinner - you’re with your friends and are having a good time. You would all like to go out tonight, but you don’t really feel like sitting around just drinking before you leave for the clubs. So, what could be better than spicing up your pre-game routine with some top of the line drinking games?
Together with a group of drinking game experts, I’ve handpicked these super fun games which will most definitely have you talking, laughing, and for the most important part, drunk. (Do make sure to drink responsibly!)
Ring Of Fire
A bit complicated but very fun. (You just need a cup and a deck of playing cards).
First off, we have an awesome game called the Ring Of Fire. For this game, you need a cup, a deck of playing cards, and of course some alcoholic beverages. This is one of the more complicated games, seeing as there is a rule for each card in the deck. The reason it´s called ring of fire, is because you put a ring of cards around a cup and keep taking away cards the more you play it.
When someone breaks the ring, they´ll have to pour some of their drink in the cup, or drink from the cup. Playing this game would be the most fun if there are around 6-10 players, because then people might forget some of the rules or not notice when a certain action is supposed to happen. When someone makes either one of these kinds of mistakes, they’ll have to drink. The further you are in the game the more fun it gets, since there are more rules that can get broken. At the same time the ring of fire gets broken more, because the cards you can pick from decrease. For the specific rules of the game you can click here.
Opus
A bit stressful but also very exciting. (You need the song Opus – by Eric Prydz and some dice).
If you like house music and stressful but exciting games, this might be the one for you. The main thing you need for this game is the song Opus – by Eric Prydz. You put the song on and start rolling the dice. When you throw a six, you give the dice to the player on the right, and when you throw a one you give the dice to the person on your left. The other numbers don’t play a role within this game. When you are given a dice, you first have to take a sip of your drink before you can start rolling. When the beat of the music drops and you have dice in your hand, you have to chug your drink! Pretty fun right?
Boomit!
Easy to play and nice if you don’t have a lot of time. (You need to have the app boomit! on your phone).
This game is perfect for groups of friends that have known each other for a while. During the game, a question is asked to the person holding the phone. That person must then give the phone to the person to who they think the question applies to the most. ’For example; who’s most likely to sleep through their alarm?’. When the 'explosion’ happens and you're the one holding the phone, you take the number of sips displayed in the app.
One round takes about 5 minutes, so if you don’t have a lot of time or don’t have a lot of drinks you could just play a few rounds instead of a lot. It’s also very easy to play but it can be nerve-wracking since you hear a ticking timebomb effect while the questions pop up.
F*ck The Dealer
Easy to play and highly effective. (Only playing cards are needed).
For this game, you only need a deck of cards, some alcohol, and some fun friends. Playing this game can get pretty heated, seeing as the chances of having to drink are mostly targeted towards the dealer of the cards. Even though the dealer gets switched around a couple of times during the game, there is most likely going to be one or two people who will have to take the most sips. It’s also more about guessing the right card, than it is a high-stakes tactics game, which makes it pretty exciting when you guess it right on the first try. You can find the rules of the game if you click here.
Cheers To The Captain
Beware, big brain activity is needed to play this game. (You just need yourselves and some alcohol!)
And last but not least, we have the game Cheers To The Captain. The goal of this game is to successfully count to 21, which seems easy right? So you all take turns saying a number, in the order in which you’re sitting. The person that has to say 21, actually says “cheers to the captain!”. That person gets to make up a rule that has to be followed in the next round. For example, the number 17 changes to the number 14, or saying the number 5 twice. The rule should be on the short side, so you can really speed up the counting part.
When someone forgets a rule, they have to drink and the round starts again. Also, the other players shouldn’t explain the rule again, so everyone has to really pay attention. At first, this game seems easy, but once the rules start piling up a lot of people will have to drink. Especially people that suffer from short-term memory loss.
So, make sure to grab your friends, and go get trashed!
