As I mentioned before in the article of November, I am back with more film or series recommendations for you to watch. A new year has started where I hope we will be able to leave 2020 behind us. We have all established that the past year was not easy, this also speaks for the film industry. Even though, the production of new seasons and films are on hold, we are still able to watch amazing productions of the previous years. Below I listed some of the best television shows according to their large fan base which are ready for you to Bing watch. In addition to this, I want to start off with two Dutch-made series which you can watch with English subtitles or change the language.

Undercover (Netflix)

“Undercover” is a Belgian-Dutch fiction series by production house “De Mensen” and is published on the streaming platform Netflix. At this moment the series consists out of two seasons where uncover agents infiltrate a drug kingpin’s operation (the head position of the drug organisation). The agents pose as a couple at the campground where the kingpin spends his weekends. In addition to this, these actions are inspired by real events. This series is perfect for you if you love a tension series that include crimes, problems and power relations.

Mocro Maffia (Videoland)

“Mocro Maffia” is a Dutch produced fictional crime series about the criminal underworld of Amsterdam. the series follows the three best friends Romano, Pencil and The Pope. Together they made the transition from petty crime to larger work. In no time they have control of the entire cocaine trade in Amsterdam and everything that comes with it. The series was conceived and developed by Achmned Akkabi and Thijs Romer, exclusively for Videoland, where the series premiered on October 11th, 2018. At this moment, the series consists out of two seasons while we are waiting for the third season to premier (hopefully on January 29th, 2021). I would definitely recommend you to give “Mocro Maffia” a shot, especially if you love tension in combination with crimes, issues and power relations.

Both “Undercover” and “Mocro Maffia” have been receiving lots of positive comments and created a large fan base. Therefore, I wanted to mention these recommendations to you. Just like international series, these series are worth watching!

Modern Family (Amazon Prime and Netflix)

“Modern Family” is a composition of unique families where they give us an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, sometimes twisted, embrace of the family. To explain you the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan. The clan is a wonderfully large and blended family with Jay Pritchett sitting at the head. By his side is his younger second wife, Gloria, and together they are navigating life with their youngest son, Joe, and Gloria’s son, Manny. Meanwhile, Jay’s grown daughter, Claire had her own family consisting out of her husband, Phil, youngest, Luke, middle daughter Alex, and eldest Haley. Then there’s Claire’s Brother and Jay’s grown son, Mitchell and husband, Cameron with their gifted daughter, Lily. If you love to watch a TV series full of comedy, drama and lots of witty and heartfelt moments, I recommend you to watch “Modern Family”. Not only does the series consists out of 11 seasons, but you can also sit back and relax while watching the easy following episodes.

You (Netflix)

“You” is an American psychological thriller television series from Warner Bros Studios offered through the streaming service Netflix. The first season follows Joe Goldberg, a bookstore manager in New York, who meets Guinevere Beck, an aspiring writer, with whom he becomes immediately infatuated. To feed his obsession, he soon turns to social media and technology to track her presence and eliminate any possible obstacles that stand in the way of their romance. I will not spoil too much information about the series, because “you” includes a lot of plots and twists throughout the series. To give my honest opinion, this series is unique and different from other psychological series. It is definitely worth the shot.

Gossip Girl (HBO MAX and the CW)

“Gossip Girl” tells the story of a number of wealthy teenagers living on New York’s Upper East Side. While they are about to go to the most important universities, all kinds of thing are happening among themselves. The big question is not “Who will graduate with the best grade?”. But rather are “Who has the most money? Who does “it” with whom? Who is the Queen Bee?” and who better to educate you on anyone matters than gossip girl? Gossip Girl has a website where she or he shares every scandal. At the end of the day, the big question is “Who is Gossip Girl?”. These series consist out of 6 seasons with a lot of drama, romance and scandals. And who doesn’t want to know how a life in the New York’s Upper East Side is?
