Special Tofu Recipe
About this post
Many people hate tofu or find it disgusting, but the truth is, they simply haven’t found a way to cook it that works. So, here I am, coming to your rescue. Tofu can be actually pretty good and easy to use as a meat substitute, if you know how to cook it properly.
First of all, it’s really important to get firm tofu and to dry it up. To do so, I usually put something heavy on top and I wrap the tofu in a towel. This way, you will get rid of most of the water and your tofu will have a better texture.
Leave the tofu like that for around 10 minutes. After that, dry delicately the tofu a bit more by pressing with the towel. When it’s nice and dry, it’s time to slice it in little sticks.
Then put the tofu in a bowl and cover it with soy sauce, oil, salt, starch, and other spices (I’m using pepper and paprika).
Put in the oven for 20-25 min at 180°C. Your tofu will be hard on the outside but soft on the inside, with a texture that reminds meat!
You can eat as it is or with noodles, in a salad, with veggies or even in a sandwich. I hope you liked my recipe and please let me know if you try it out!
