I am sure you have all heard of meditation as a mindful practice and you already know about the numerous spiritual, mental, physical and emotional benefits surrounding it. However, let me remind you about some of them once again:

In our daily lives, we are being constantly bombarded with all types of information. Scrolling through social media pages to unwind during our free time or watching a Netflix show before bed provokes all these thoughts, biases and associations to run through our heads every second of every hour. We rarely if not ever get alone with ourselves and allow our thoughts to come forward. We feel like we are always in a rush because we are too busy observing all of these things around us, however, we rarely have time to sit in silence with our minds, to observe our own thoughts and reactions. You would really be surprised how many things you can find out about yourself that may be lying beneath the surface while being in this peaceful state of mindfulness during meditation. The whole process allows you to release all tension throughout your mind and body, it allows you to slow down, take a deep breath (or a few ones) and ground yourself while focusing on the current moment without any external distractions.
Almost everyone, if not everyone from your favourite celebrities, sports stars or influential people practice meditation or some sort of mindfulness. It is in fact almost everyone because they have not achieved their success without a reason. However don’t get me wrong meditation is not only meant to be for super famous people, it should be a part of every human being’s daily life. More and more young people nowadays have started to educate themselves on the topic of mindfulness and are practising meditation as a daily routine and it is never too late for you to start either.
How to start with your first meditation – a beginner’s guide
Choose your method: It Is best to start with your meditation first thing in the morning, in order to set yourself up for the day. However you can do it at any time you want, just make sure that there are no distractions around you.
Choose your method: There are many ways to meditate, as well as many videos on guided meditation (calming music with voice-over guiding you during the practice) or you can just sit in silence with yourself and observe your own thoughts.
Take small steps: If it is your first time meditating, start with meditating for 5 minutes (would be helpful to set up an alarm for yourself) and just sit there or lay down, whatever works best for you and observe your mind, take a moment to ground yourself, to appreciate the moment and to be grateful about all the fortunes in your life.
Be patient with yourself: I'm not going to lie to you it is not going to be easy but just like everything in life - practice makes perfect. Start with a short meditation every morning or whenever you feel like it, figure out what works best for you and with time and patience you will start to notice all the positive changes in your mind and body.
